Have you seen our Twins?

Karissa watched Logan on Friday and I watched Devin on Saturday.
They spent about 36 hours together.

Logan treated Devin like a true big cousin would. I wonder how long before Devin realizes that he is bigger???

We've been Busy

A week ago Sunday -Kyle took Emily. Logan and I to the airport in Sioux Falls. We flew to Vegas and Grandpa Steve and Grandma Marilyn picked us up. When we arrived at their house Logan decided it was time for something new, so he sat himself up. (It was the first time I had seen him do it anyway). Emily told Grandma she wanted to swim, shop and climb moutains--so that is what we did. Monday we went shopping and then swimming. Tues we went to Zion National Park--It is beautiful--but very HOT! Wed we relaxed and then went back over to mom and dad's friends ->Bill and Annika's house to swim and for a BBQ. Thurs we went to Pine Mountain/Valley where it was much cooler. We hiked along a waterfall and creek. Friday and Saturday we did more swimming--Then Sunday flew back and came home. It was a quick week.....Did anyone else know that it is HOT in the desert in the summer? Both kids traveled so well. I had a lot of nice comments from strangers while we were getting off the plane.

We had a lot of fun! Thanks for everything mom and dad!!! I will post some pictures soon.

We are Under the Weather

The kids and I have not been feeling to well--None of us feel the same thought. Thurs night around 11:45 I woke up not feeling well--I will spare you the details...I think I ate once yesterday and am working back up to more today--Now I just have a headache.

Friday when I picked up the kids from daycare, Emily was sleeping--Big red flag there. She was all achy and said her head hurt. Logan seemed warm, but he had been taking a nap and he always seems warm when he gets up. We got home and I gave Em some Tylenol and Logan a bottle-after he fell asleep Em asked me to rub her back. Then she took a shower and said she felt better. Logan was so cranky that I let him go to bed a little after 7:00. He was up at 11:15 and he had a fever of 101.6.....I gave him some Tylenol and fed him and back to bed he went....Then he was up again at 4:30....His fever then was 100.8 and he would not let me put him back down, so we slept in the recliner until 6:00. His fever is gone, but he is still quite the cranky boy. What a fun start to a vacation week!!

The Deal

Ok...I am writing this for everyone to see. Since Emily had such attitude the last half of the school year last year we made a deal.

Lets start with Emily has been watching Jon and Kate plus 8. Each of the 8 kids have had a special day with their parents--Emily happened to see the one where Mady got her ears pierced, and since she is the same age as Mady, Emily feels she should have her ears pierced too. Our deal is: If she does not get in any trouble from the beginning of the school year until Winter Break we will let her get her ears pierced for Christmas, otherwise she has to wait until her 9th Birthday (a year and a half).

Logan's First Boat Ride

Yesterday afternoon we went up to the Lakes to go boating/tubing on Marv and Caryl's new boat. We were all excited all twelve of us could go on the boat together. As we were getting on the boat it started to sprinkle. I was trying to get Logan situated because he did not like his life jacket. I found as long as he kind of stood up the jacket didn't bother him as much and he enjoyed watching the water. Then it started to rain a little harder. We thought maybe we could just wait it out for a little while, so they put the canopy up--It was cold coming down on our backs so we wrapped ourselves in towels. Then it rained harder, so we figured we had better go in. After a few failed attempts to load the boat on the trailer Christie, Myself and the 6 kids jumped in the pickup while the other 4 tried get it loaded. I don't know how long it took, but they finally did it and we went back to the camper. It rained an poured so much there was a little pond outside of the camper when it finally cleared. We decided instead of grilling to go out for pizza. While we finished eating the sun came out, so about 8:00 everyone (except Logan and I---Logan was ready for bed) took the boat out and went tubing. What a day!
