We're good

Not really a lot to report. We just eat, sleep and change diapers around here...yes even Emily will change diapers too. We also do the occasional shopping trip, but other than that we are just hanging out at home. We will see what next week brings when Em is on winter break.

Oh What a Night!

I have to go back to about noon yesterday--I guess I over did shopping on Friday, because I had the worst pain in my side (It was hard to even walk). So when Logan wasn't awake his usual 4-8:30 I didn't mind to much. Usually I get to bed around 9:30 and last night it was 11:00. Around 12:15 I heard Emily puking, I didn't get up because it sounded like Kyle had a handle on it. He got her back into bed and then came in. Evidently Emily had been sleeping and walked into Logan's bedroom and puked all over the carpet. She was even holding onto one of his outfits when Kyle walked in. He had a hard time getting her to wake up. So we got out the carpet cleaner and cleaned things up-Logan slept through it. I had just gotten back into bed and Kyle hollered at me, Em was throwing up in her bed. He got her into the shower and I stripped the bed and remade it. So once again, back to bed....1:00 Logan is up, and up again at 3:30. At 5:00 I heard Em up getting some water and 10 minutes later she hollered at me and threw up again (this time we caught it all in the bucket and my side pain was finally gone). And at 6:00 Logan up again. I believe I will be taking a nap this afternoon!

What Good Little Kids I Have!

Yesterday Grandma Caryl picked up Logan and I and we went Christmas shopping. Logan was so good-he slept most of the time...Thanks again for taking us Caryl! I think I just need to make a trip to Kmart and I am done.

Then, last night Emily asked me if I wanted her to make me a snack. I said sure. After a while "cooking" in the kitchen, she brought me a bowl with a cut up banana, crushed pretzels and torn up bread. The banana and pretzels together weren't to bad, but the bread in there just didn't go. I ate it all anyway.

2 Week Check up

We went in this afternoon for Logan's 2 week check up. He is 7 lbs. 7 oz. and 21 1/2 inches (up from 6 lbs 11 oz when we left the hospital). What a good growing boy!

It's Another Boy

**Emily and Logan have another new cousin**
Kian Wyldd Robinson was born this afternoon at 3:12. He weighs 6 lbs 15 oz and is 20 inches long.
Congrats Lisa.

JEALOUS?

We didn't think that Emily, being older, would get so jealous of her little brother. Boy were we wrong! We are so mean for asking her to pick up her stuff or do anything else that we would normally ask her to do. She constantly tells us to quit yelling at her--we have made a conscious effort not to yell--just use our normal voices, but for some reason she views it as us yelling. I am so glad that Grandma Marilyn has been here after school everyday to play 20 games of UNO and let Em help her make supper. Any advise anyone?

Logan Lee

We have our new arrival!
Logan Lee was born 11-21-07 at 6:14 am. He was 7 lbs 4 1/2 oz and 19 1/2 inches. We will get pictures out this weekend.

Wednesday, November 14, 2007

Yep, it's 1 AM

And I am up! It seems like I will sleep really good for 1 or 2 nights and then be up from around 1 AM to 3 or 5 AM for a night. I am sure Lynnette is probally half way up right now -->anybody else up?

People keep asking me if I am still working. Yes I am, Friday will be my last day for the year....I am sure I will hold out that long unless something changes at my Dr appt today.

The Wizard of Oz

Yesterday I saw that The Wizard of Oz was going to be on TV. Emily had yet to see it, so I thought it would be a nice time for us to sit down and watch a movie together. I didn't know if she would be interested or bored. About a minute into the movie she asked me why there wasn't any color to the picture. Then when the Munchkins came on for the first time she said "Look at those cute little twerps". I said "They are Munchkins"-she said "yeah, that's what I meant".....
She must have enjoyed it, because she asked me today when it is on again.

Nesting??

I don't know why else I would be up dusting the

BusGirl

Emily and I went to Uncle George's Thanksgiving today (at Danny's). After we ate, Em was a little bored, so she went out and was talking with the waitresses. Pretty soon she came in and took out her ice cream bowl and then came in and got mine. Then slowly took out a few other things. I asked her what she was doing. "I am helping clean up" she said. She also helped clear the salad buffet and sweep the floor....I had a hard time getting her to leave...I told her when we got home I could find her some things to do around the house--However when we got home she went straight outside to play. Imagine that?!?! Oh, they did pay her for her work (out of the tip jar).

WOW

I cannot believe how much Emily has already learned in school this year...Reading, spelling, and math. Every day she comes home quite a bit smarter than the day before. I don't remember learning half this stuff so early-probably because we didn't. This year I guess I will have to be a little more careful when making out her Christmas list, she is really good sounding everything out.

A Great Weekend

Saturday Morning Christie and Caryl (my sister-in-law and mother-in-law) had a very nice baby shower for us...I think we have about everything we need now except the baby and a few other odds and ends.

When Emily and I went to pick up my Grandma, to take her to the shower, we had a wonderful suprise->Mom (Grandma Marilyn) had driven up for the weekend. After the shower we sat and talked with Caryl and Christie for a while. Then went back to Grandma and Grandpa's, and went out for supper last night. Emily and I went back over for one of Grandma's great lunches (Everything is always good--Even when she says she just threw it together. I wish my throw togethers always turned out good.) Mom had a curfew to be back at Lynnette's by 8:00, so she left around 4:00. Now I should do a bunch of housework, but why ruin a great weekend with housework--It will be here tomorrow.

Thank you Caryl, Christie, Mom, Grandma, Grandpa and everyone else for a special weekend!!

New Job

Well its a new position. I am going to be the Assistant Accounting Coordinator at the store. I am pretty excited--I get to go back to using some of my college degree and get something out of those thousands of dollars we spent in South Dakota. I have been helping out a little in there to help them get caught up, but I am afraid what I have learned is only the tip of the iceberg. I assume by the time my position is filled and I train some one, I probably won't be able to actually start until January--but I am really excited.....

Baby Boy #1 has Arrived

I have been having some pretty strange dreams lately, but last night I had a dream that I had our baby...It was a girl and looked exactly like Emily (not her as a baby, just a very small version of how she looks now). While I was in the shower this morning I thought to myself I should maybe check the Hillabolt website for any new information. Low and behold--> Derek James was born late last night. For more information click on hillabolt.com to the right of this post.

After hearing the news Emily thinks that it is time for our baby to come....I told her we are going to wait about another month.

Heartburn

Last night around 7:00 I realized that we were out of Rolaids (I have to take some most nights before I go to bed). I figured that I could tough it out for one night, however I was way wrong. I went to bed around 8:30 and everytime I rolled over my heartburn got worse. I am not sure what time I finally fell asleep, but I was awake around 11:00. I decided I better go sit up in the living room. I did end up falling asleep sitting up and that is how I slept the rest of the night. My poor neck this morning. Lesson learned: Don't run out of Rolaids!!

Baby Names

The last I knew (from about a month ago) Emily and Kyle had 5 names on the list : Logan, Mason, Carson, Justin and Chase. If they have been discussing it lately, they have been very secretive about it. Those names are all OK with me, so as long as they don't throw something out of the ordinary in there I won't have to use my mommy veto power.

Side note: Pregnancy Massages are awesome!!

32 Week Check Up

I had a great appt today. First of all, my appointment was at 9:50 and I was home by 10:10--usually I have to wait at least 45 mins. Baby is good. His head is down and heartbeat is 140. I asked how far over she would let me go--only a week at most. And to my surprise she said that if I got tired of being pregnant she could start me as early as the 13th....I'll have to talk to Kyle and see what he thinks. So far this time is much easier than with Emily, so right now I just say let him come when he wants.....We will see.

Date Night

Last night Emily went camping with Grandma Caryl, Grandpa Marv and Braeden, so Kyle and I thought it would be a perfect time for the two of us to go out for supper. After we ate at the Gausthaus we drove around and looked at houses...what else is there to do here?

This morning I got Emily's scrapbook updated, and the house picked up. now I have 2 hours to myself until I babysit for Brae, Caleb and Brooke......

Birthday

HAPPY 35th BIRTHDAY KYLE!!

Saturday, September 15, 2007

I need sleep

This past week I have been waking up about 2:30 AM and finding it very hard to fall back to sleep. So, am I not going to get a good night sleep again for the next 3 years??? I thought I would have a little more time to store the sleep. I am hoping maybe it's just that it's year end time at work and I am stressed to get everything done--and it takes me so much longer to do everything right now. Keep your fingers crossed for me and hopefully after the next two weeks I will sleep again. Well except for the nightly 12:00 and 3:00 bathroom breaks.

Racing season had come to an end

So this years racing season has come to an end. Kyle ended the year 7th in points at BV Raceway. He tried for a spot at Nationals in Boone this past week. He did really good when he was on the track (from what I was told), but a couple of flat tires took him out. Good job racing this year honey!!

Thank you

Thanks to everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday. Grandma invited me over for lunch--I was stuffed as usual after eating her delicious food. Mom had left my b-day gift there so I got to open something. Then about 7:00 last night I was beginning to wonder if anyone was going to call. Lynnette, then Mom, then Karissa, then Dad all called within about 45 mins of each other. I had an e-mail from Lee this morning-so he even remembered. I also saw cards, etc from Alisa, Karrie, Caryl and Gloria. I didn't have time to look at everything this morning, but I will check it out when I get home this afternoon.

Thanks again everyone!!

Aren't they Cute?

Emily and Sophia a couple of weeks ago.

It's getting bigger

I had a couple of people comment on my growing tummy today. I guess the only thing that I have noticed is that it is getting harder to get into a comfortable position to sleep.

Saturday night we went to a fish fry and I said to Emily and Braeden--"Wow look I ate to much and look what happened to my tummy." Emily just looked at me like yeah mom. Braeden turned to Grandma Caryl and said " I don't know, I just think it's just that baby in there."

The boys are gaining on us

Karissa had her ultrasound and guess what--It's another BOY. It had seemed like we had a good stretch of girls running on my mom's side of the family (The last boy born on the Goodburn side of the family was 25 years ago) and now it will grow by 3 boys within 6 or 8 weeks this winter. How exciting!!

Our Trip

Emily and I left Friday after school to take Grandma Marilyn to Auntie Net's. Lynnette is going to take her to the airport on Monday so she can fly back to Utah. We checked out Lynnette and Kevin's new house--It is very nice, had lunch with Lee on Saturday, did a little shopping and came home this morning. Emily was very good during the car ride. During the first half an hour, this morning, I didn't hear anything out of her, I had to keep looking back to make sure I didn't forget her.

We miss you Grandma Marilyn...can't wait until you come back in November--Don't forget Grandpa Steve.

First Day back to School

I had today off so I made Emily and Kyla (the neighbor girl) breakfast and gave them a ride to school. No tears by me this year....When Em got home I asked her how it went. She said that First Grade is the BEST! They have a rabbit in their classroom named Lola and a hamster or two are coming, but not there yet. I asked what she learned about today, she said responsibility....Oh yeah, she forgot to bring her papers home. I guess that subject is just getting started.

Busy Weekend

We had a very busy weekend. Lynnette and Sophia came on Friday--about noon and Karissa came later in the day. We spent Friday afternoon at Grandma and Grandpa's and went back to our house for pizza and to go through a bunch of baby clothes that Christie (Kyle's sister) had dropped off for us to borrow. Saturday mom and Grandma had a baby shower for Baby Robinson (Cindy-thanks for all you did too). We got a lot of nice stuff--Thank you everyone. Saturday night we had a family dinner with aunts and uncles and cousins and then back to grandma's for lunch today before Lynnette and Sophia ventured home.

It was a lot of fun to watch Emily and Sophia play together. Emily seemed to be a lot of help...I am sure she will be a lot of help for me when the baby comes.

Shopping

Yesterday Emily and I went to S C. We met Karissa and Grandma Marilyn (Grandma Marilyn is visiting for two whole weeks). Emily got some clothes and shoes for school and I also got a couple of things. The most impressive thing was Emily spending her own money on her baby brother (she got $10.00 for taking back pop cans and spent $6.00 on him). She bought him a stuffed monkey to go with his bedroom.

Cheap House Cleaner

Emily can be such a great cleaner when she wants to be. I asked her if she wanted to help me dust the house and I would pay her. She said yeah, all she wanted paid is a quarter and a penny. That's what I call cheap labor.

Wednesday, August 8, 2007

Baby Names

Emily and I went through a list of baby names today and she actually found one she likes-->Logan. Kyle didn't know if he likes it, but we said we will put it on a list. Another name we have thought of is Mason. Like Kyle said, we have 15 weeks to find something, so these are just the first round of names we are kicking around.....
We are open to suggestions.

Kyle vs Puke

So last night around 10:00 I was in bed, just about ready to fall asleep and I hear banging on the wall. Kyle was tring to get my attention because, Emily had evidently eaten way to much and had puked all over herself and half of the bathroom. I got up and Kyle was standing outside of the bathroom--the puke won. I took a look in the bathroom and then had to step out for a moment, grab a breath of fresh air and wake up just a little. Then did the mommy thing--stripped her down and into the shower, then rolled up her clothes in the rug. Rinsed everything off and put it into the washer. Handed the clean kid back off to her dad to be dressed and last-back to the bathroom to wipe everything down.

I mentioned to Kyle that he was lucky that I was past my puky stage otherwise he would have been in there cleaning up.....He said something about Karissa may have had to do it.

Verified

Something did happen with all Baby Robinson's moving around early Sunday morning. I have had quite a few people tell me I have grown in the past week.

Sunday, July 29, 2007

Active Baby

Around 4 AM I was awakened by a lot of kicking and moving around. Someone must have needed to change positions or something. Today I am feeling very big and pretty uncomfortable. Bigger pants needed once again.

Building Muscles

Emily has decided that a great way for her to build her muscles is to help me up off the couch--every time. I believe that she thinks of different reasons about every 15 minutes for me to have to get up. She said "WOW mom I am going to be really strong by the time my baby brother is born!"

Wednesday, July 18, 2007

22 Week Check Up

I went for my 22 Week check up today. Baby was being a little stinker. He didn't want us to listen to his heartbeat. Every time we would find it, he would kick and move. Finally he settled down and it sounded good. My measurements were right on--All is good.

Saturday, July 14, 2007

Your fat

Emily informed me yesterday that "Mom you are sure getting fat." Then she wanted to know if Auntie Net is getting fat too. So she e-mailed her......No response yet.

Friday, July 13, 2007

Swimming Lessons

Emily has been going to swimming lessons every morning this week. Today she got to jump off the diving board. The first time she walked up to the end and then back again. The second time she walked slowly to the end and jumped off. Then she was good to go.

She is about an inch to short to go down the water slide. I told her that she will have to wait until next year. She informed me, on the way this morning, that she has been doing her exercises and stretching, so we had to check her height again this morning--Still to short.

Saturday, July 7, 2007

Girls vs Boys

It's Emily and Sophia vs their two baby brothers. Now we have to wait for Karissa (her ultrasound in August) to see what the tie-breaker will be.

Sunday, July 1, 2007

Out for supper

We went out for supper last night with Kyle's parents and grandparents (something about a bet, they owed Kyle a chicken dinner). It's funny to watch Grandpa Marv and Emily when they get together-It's like two kids. The best part was watching Kyle scold them and trying to get them to behave.

10 YEARS

Yes, can you believe it? Kyle and I have been married for 10 years. I have put up with him for that long. Actually, I guess I know how to put him in his place :o) . We didn't do anything special, just watched Emily's last T-ball game. Now what are we going to do the rest of the summer??

Monday, June 25, 2007

Busy Girl

Emily had another busy week last week. She had T-ball game Tuesday. Went to the Races on Wed. Thur. she went to a Lake. Friday she went camping at S L, then on Sat. we went up there and they went boating (I stayed on the beach). Emily went to her best friend Megan's birthday party and then we went to a BBQ out at the Kamphoff's. Sunday she helped her dad and cleaned her room. At least I haven't heard "I am bored" from her for a while.

Friday, June 15, 2007

Here he is

Sorry its not a very clear picture once I get it on here. The Ultrasound Tech said he's a boy. Kyle said he won't believe it until he see's it with his own eyes. Emily is excited. I didn't know how she would take it since she change her mind and wanted a sister, but its all good. She has been reading and singing to him at night.

Sunday, June 10, 2007

Another New Cousin

Yep that's right! Emily is going to have another new cousin. Karissa is due on January 1st. Who would ever imagine that all three of us could be expecting within 6 weeks of each other? Christmas shopping should be a whole lot of fun for Grandma Marilyn and Grandpa Steve this year.

Fast Week

Why is it that when you take the week off work it seems to go super fast? Last weekend we went to the wedding, then Sunday we (Mom, Karissa, Emily and I) went to invade Lynnette, Kevin and Sophia. Monday we went shopping and came home. Emily went to Bible School each morning for the rest of the week. She also had T-ball games on Tuesday and Thursday nights. We went to the races on Wed night. Mom and Dad left on Thursday. Then Friday and Saturday we had a garage sale (very slow). And today I think we will go to Shrek 3.

Wednesday, June 6, 2007

Wedding

We traveled to Cedar Falls on Friday for my cousin Melissa's wedding.

Emily was one of the flowergirls. She had so much fun dancing with Sydney (the other flower girl) and swimming in the pool at the hotel.

Busy Busy

Wow it's been a whole week since I have posted. Emily and Kyle went camping for the weekend (I had to work). They left Friday and came back Monday--They survived the togetherness, of coarse it helped that Emily had a whole bunch of cousins to play with. I spent time with my parents -- they are here from Utah for a couple of weeks. Now we are getting ready for this weekend. Emily is a flower girl in my cousin Melissa's wedding....It should be fun. Look for pretty pictures sometime next week.

Washing Machine = Girl

I took Emily with me for my appointment today. She seemed to enjoy listening to the heartbeat. The Dr told her if it sounded like a washing machine it is a girl and if it sounded like a galloping horse it was a boy. Emily thought it sounded more like a washing machine and I couldn't tell. Did I mention she has changed her mind -now she wants a sister. Ultrasound is in three weeks, so maybe we will find out then, unless this baby is shy like Emily was. Then we will just have to wait until it's born to find out.

Happy Day

HAPPY 6TH BIRTHDAY EMILY!

Friday, May 11, 2007

Go a Quarter

Once again I find it so funny how Emily's mind works. We were in the Tahoe the other day and she asked me how fast I was driving. I said about 21 mph...she said "Oh--Can you go a quarter?" Can't tell they are learning about money in school can you?

Tuesday, May 8, 2007

New Clothes

I was down to only two pairs of pants for work, so I figured I had better go shopping. I think I did pretty good. I got 2 pairs of comfortable pants, 1 pair of shorts and 2 shirts as well as two pairs of flip flops for Emily all for under $40.00.

Saturday, May 5, 2007

No Electricity

We had some thunderstorms this morning and lost electricity for about an hour. Emily was going around the house--> Does this work, Nope, Does this work, Nope......Later (right after I noticed that my clock was blinking 12:00) I was in my room and Emily came in and said "look mom" as she switched on the light. "Pretty cool huh?" It's amazing what excites her.

Thursday, May 3, 2007

Hot Dog Days

It was a cool, misty, and wet Hot Dog Day. Of coarse it was dry until we got downtown. Emily was in the parade for T-ball. She ate two hot dogs (to my one) and that was after eating two PB & J sandwiches an hour before.

Wednesday, May 2, 2007

Little Athlete

Emily had a busy day yesterday. First they had Kindergarten Track and Field Day at the High School. She did the long jump, 50 yard dash, 200 yard run and a couple of relays. She is a really good runner. I told her she just needs to watch in front of her instead of looking to see where everyone else is at.

Then last night was the first T-Ball practice. We need a little more practice in this activity. I was just glad yesterday was only in the 70's instead of the 90's like Monday was. I'm not sure about Emily, but I slept good last night!

Sunday, April 29, 2007

Attitude Adjustment

Wow, has Emily developed a major attitude the past couple weeks. If she doesn't get something her way it is the end of the world. Any advice?? Anyone???

Friday, April 27, 2007

Cow Naming

Since Emily helped Great Grandpa and Grandma Robinson build their fence for their 3 calves, she got to name them. The only problem she had is that they are all boys. " I don't know how to name boys!" she said. I believe their names are Brownie, Blackie, and Rambo.
To bad one wasn't a girl so we could have used Freida.

Dr's Appt

I had my first Prenatal Doctor's visit on Wednesday. All is good. Just the normal exam and listening to the heartbeat. Dr Harrison suggested that I bring Emily with me next time so she can hear the heartbeat too. She is pretty excited. I maybe should have waited to tell her, now she is going to ask me about it constantly for the next month.

So It Begins

I thought I was going to get away without all the puking this time. So far I have only felt nauseous at night (when I smell meat cooking). However, this morning the throwing up began. Maybe it's only a one day thing--Yeah Right!!!

Saturday, April 21, 2007

Spring Cleaning

Emily and I started cleaning her room this morning. Wow!! It has taken us an hour to go through her toy box, find the floor under her bed and to clean her closet. Right now it's break time. Then it's dusting time....Wish me luck, I would like to get all three bedrooms upstairs done today so I can clean carpets on Wed....

Monday, April 16, 2007

The Park

Finally it's spring time!!! Emily asked if I would take her and the neighbor girl to the park today after school. I am glad we went right after school, because by the time we left there were tons of people there. Guess everyone had the same idea.

Do your pants still fit?

Lynnette called me last night and asked if my pants were getting tight yet....I said not yet, but today, they are a little snug. I guess since I was so sick when I was pregnant with Emily, I figured I better get some food in before I get sick this time. I have been grazing and grazing. So far I feel pretty good yet. I just can't eat in the evenings.

More Exciting News

Our other exciting news is Emily is not only going to be a big sister in November, but she also will have a new cousin in November. Lynnette and Kevin are expecting too. We are both due in the same week--My date is November 19 and Lynnette's is November 23....We couldn't have done better if we had planned it.

Happy Easter!

Emily and I had a busy weekend. We left Saturday morning at 8:00 to head for Sophia's Birthday party. Emily had lots of fun playing with Sophia and all of her toys. We spent the night and then got up this morning at 7:00. Emily and Sophia hunted for Easter Eggs and we hit the road back home by 8:00. We got home around 11:15, I through together a green bean casserole and headed to Kyle's sister Christie's for Easter Dinner. I am happy to say I did not over eat.....But I am so exhausted, I am thinking about going to bed here shortly. Thanks for a great weekend everyone!!

Wednesday, April 4, 2007

Frieda

Emily came to me the other day with a name in case she has a baby sister-->Frieda. I suggested we look through the book of baby names for something she may like better....We have been through all the girls names and it is still Frieda.

Monday, April 2, 2007

Emily is going to be a BIG SISTER

It's true -I am pregnant! Emily is so excited. She wants a baby brother and she is going to give him all the toys she doesn't play with anymore and give him her bedroom. I am due on November 19, which is her half birthday (she will turn 6 1/2 that day) so that was pretty exciting for her too.

Saturday, March 31, 2007

Happy Birthday's for April

We have a lot of Birthday's in our Family this next week.
I thought I would be the first to wish all the April babies Happy Day's!!

April 4 - Sophia's 1st Birthday
April 5 - Caleb's 1st Birthday
April 6 - Mark (I won't mention how old for everyone over 20)
April 11 - Lynnette

Kyle's a quitter

Kyle has finally decided to quit smoking. On Monday I picked up his prescription for Chantix, which is some new drug that is said to be working pretty good. Keep your fingers crossed for him!

Tuesday, March 27, 2007

Eye Appointment

Emily had her Eye appointment today. On the way there she was saying that she couldn't see right. The sky was green and the grass was purple and so on. She was sure she needed glasses. The doctor said most 5 year olds have a 2 degree correction and she only has 1 degree, so no glasses needed this time around. She was SO DISAPPOINTED!

I went and talked with Mrs. Wood today and she said Emily is doing really good in school. We just have to work on those backwards letters and numbers.
And she said Emily is shy--REALLY???

New Bathroom Floor

Here is my latest project--I redid the bathroom floor this past week. Of coarse it's not perfect, but it's better than the old one. When we put in a new toilet last year it was skinner than the old toilet, so it left a ring. I am so happy I don't have to look at that anymore.

I'll be old

We were riding in the car and Emily informed me she isn't going to go to collage. Here is how our conversation went:
"Mom, I am not going to collage."
"Then what do you plan on doing after High School." I asked
"I am not going to go to High School either." she then stated.
"Oh yes you are!" I said.
"No I am not, and you can't do anything about it because you will be old."

Where do they come up with this stuff????

Wipe Out

Kyle got Emily's bike out for her to ride yesterday. She must have been riding through a big puddle and lost control. She came home all muddy and had a huge scrape on her arm.

What a difference a week makes

Last weekend was a Blizzard--We received 14 inches of snow and it was very windy.
This weekend was 60 degrees and sunny. Only 9 days until spring--I AM SO READY!

Bad Vision

I got a letter from the school today. It said that Emily needs to get her eyes checked. I knew eventually that Emily would probably have to get glasses, since Kyle and I both have (had) bad eyesight. I just didn't think she would need to get checked so soon.

Night Guard

When Emily and I went to Lynnette's we slept in the same bed together and I noticed that she grinds her teeth when she sleeps. I talked it over with the Dentist during her appointment last week and he said we could leave her for now--She may grow out of it. Anyway, I didn't think to much more about it, then last night she came to me. She must have seen a commercial for a Night Guard. She said 'Mom, I just saw what we need to get so I can stop grinding my teeth. I will draw you a picture so you can see what I am talking about.' She drew me a very good picture of a night guard--It had teeth impressions and everything.

32 Inches

Have you ever seen Dr Oz on Oprah? He basically says that your weight doesn't matter, its your waist size you need to watch. Waist size shouldn't be greater than 32 inches -for women (35 inches for men). Since I heard that I have been working on it and today I am so excited I have a 32 inch waist!!!!! And that is at 5:00 in the afternoon, after I have eaten today--
Wooo Whooo!

Blizzard

WOW!!! Is it ever going to stop snowing? I think it has snowed at least once a week since Christmas. Today is a major BLIZZARD. Everything is closed in town except Hy-Vee and Modern. Of coarse I just talked to Kyle and they are just sitting around in the shop, but they are open. I, however, worked (HARD) from 4:30 - 1:00 and cannot believe the people in the store getting groceries. Usually the storm rush is the day before the storm, I don't know if people didn't believe this was coming or what...It's just crazy!

New Do

Emily went with Kyle the other night when he went to get his hair cut. Emily had been talking about how she wants to grow out her bangs, so I didn't expect her to get any of her hair cut. Imagine my surprise when she came home. She said "Mom we cut off 3 gallons"

Influenza

Emily got yet another cold (fourth one in four months) over the weekend. We went to the Dr on Tuesday and guess what? Influenza B.
Is it just me or are there a lot more viruses this year than ever. She has been sick more this year than all other years combined.

Des Moines

Emily and I ventured to see Sophia (Lynnette and Kevin too). Actually Emily really wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese. On Saturday we started out in some light snow, the roads weren't bad considering the snowfall overnight Friday night. It must have been slippery Friday because when we got on the Interstate we counted 54 cars in the ditches.

Saturday and Sunday we did some shopping. Saturday night we played LIFE and guess who won?? EMILY!! Sunday Emily helped Uncle Kevin paint his office. Then on Monday (no School) we went to Chuck E Cheese and then came home.

Sophia is getting so big and smart. Emily enjoyed playing with and chasing after her.
Thanks Sophia, Auntie Net, and Uncle Kevin

Emily lost her first tooth!

Tuesday night Emily and Kyle went over to G-Grandpa Chet's and checked out the pliers (tweezers). I didn't actually think that she would let him do anything, but came home with her tooth in an envelope. "It didn't hurt at all" she said. The new one is already on it's way in.

The Flu

I made it through the flu again. This time it wasn't quite as bad as when I had it right after Christmas. I have to say it is BAD STUFF! I was only sick for about 36 hours, but then it took me just as long to get back to my usual self. I do have to say that I am pretty pleased that Kyle found the oven and the dishwasher on Sunday all by himself--I think Emily helped with supper and the clean up. Great Job you two!

But we don't have a tail!

After Emily mopped the Kitchen floor, I was wiping up the excess water, and Emily was sliding across the wet floor and slipped. She commented "that was fun". I told her to be careful or she might break her tail bone. She kind of looked puzzled and then asked, "Where is my tail bone". I showed her, then she replied, "but we don't have a tail".

Side note, why isn't it as fun for Emily to clean her own room as it is the rest of the house.

Boxelder Bugs

Does anyone know how to get rid of Boxelder Bugs? We sprayed and they went away, now they are back. HELP!

Sewing

Last night Emily came to me and asked me to fix a sock that had a hole in it. It was right before bed and I said we could do it tomorrow after school (there was only a half a day of school today). When she got home, she brought me the needle to thread. I threaded it and tied a knot at the end. She went into the other room and a short time later came back. I asked her about her sock and she showed me where she had fixed it herself. She actually did a pretty good job, it would be almost perfect if she would have put the sock inside out first. I asked her who taught her to sew and she said 'No one, I taught myself'. I wonder........

First Loose Tooth

Actually Emily has two loose teeth (bottom middle ones), but one is really loose. For weeks she has been coming to me and having me wiggle them every day. Last night Kyle was telling her how Grandpa Chet use to pull his teeth out with pliers. She thought about it for a little, then said she wanted to try that. So I think they are planning a trip to Grandpa Chet's to check out the pliers. I think she will chicken out, but we'll have to wait and see.

I'm Hungry

I can't believe how much Emily eats! It seems like every other hour she comes to me and says "I'm Hungry". She must be going through another growth spurt or something....Funny thing is she weighs the same as she did on her last birthday.

Being Sick is BORING

I received a call from school again yesterday, Emily had a fever of 102 and had a headache. She was sent home sick last Friday with a temp and headache, we doctored her all last weekend and she was feeling better-For a couple of days at least. So last week she missed Jr Cheerleading at the Basketball game and today she missed preforming in the Fine Arts Program--We were both disappointed. Anyway, after playing multiple games of Candy Land, UNO, Go Fish, and reading books Emily stated being sick is BBOORRIINNGG!!! I think she is ready to hang out with her dad for a while. We did go to the Doctors office and it's just a virus thats going around.

Deer Meat

Kyle went deer hunting for the first time in December and shot his deer. I picked up the meat from the Locker on Monday and tried it for the first time last night....It was mixed half ground beef and half deer meat. I did not like it. I do like the jerky, but not the ground meat. I think I am going to try and mix half a pound of that with half a pound of ground beef and then maybe it won't be so bad--only 25% deer meat. I have to do something, we have 25 pounds to eat!

The First One

So I have finally decided to start a blog. I figured with as busy as Emily is, she can keep this this rolling. Hopefully I can be as witty as Lynnette is with hers. We will see how this goes.
Note to all : A good speller I am not, but I will do my best.
