Kyle's a quitter

Kyle has finally decided to quit smoking. On Monday I picked up his prescription for Chantix, which is some new drug that is said to be working pretty good. Keep your fingers crossed for him!

Eye Appointment

Emily had her Eye appointment today. On the way there she was saying that she couldn't see right. The sky was green and the grass was purple and so on. She was sure she needed glasses. The doctor said most 5 year olds have a 2 degree correction and she only has 1 degree, so no glasses needed this time around. She was SO DISAPPOINTED!

Parent/Teacher Conference

I went and talked with Mrs. Wood today and she said Emily is doing really good in school. We just have to work on those backwards letters and numbers.
And she said Emily is shy--REALLY???

New Bathroom Floor

Here is my latest project--I redid the bathroom floor this past week. Of coarse it's not perfect, but it's better than the old one. When we put in a new toilet last year it was skinner than the old toilet, so it left a ring. I am so happy I don't have to look at that anymore.

I'll be old

We were riding in the car and Emily informed me she isn't going to go to collage. Here is how our conversation went:
"Mom, I am not going to collage."
"Then what do you plan on doing after High School." I asked
"I am not going to go to High School either." she then stated.
"Oh yes you are!" I said.
"No I am not, and you can't do anything about it because you will be old."

Where do they come up with this stuff????

Wipe Out

Kyle got Emily's bike out for her to ride yesterday. She must have been riding through a big puddle and lost control. She came home all muddy and had a huge scrape on her arm.

What a difference a week makes

Last weekend was a Blizzard--We received 14 inches of snow and it was very windy.
This weekend was 60 degrees and sunny. Only 9 days until spring--I AM SO READY!

Bad Vision

I got a letter from the school today. It said that Emily needs to get her eyes checked. I knew eventually that Emily would probably have to get glasses, since Kyle and I both have (had) bad eyesight. I just didn't think she would need to get checked so soon.

Night Guard

When Emily and I went to Lynnette's we slept in the same bed together and I noticed that she grinds her teeth when she sleeps. I talked it over with the Dentist during her appointment last week and he said we could leave her for now--She may grow out of it. Anyway, I didn't think to much more about it, then last night she came to me. She must have seen a commercial for a Night Guard. She said 'Mom, I just saw what we need to get so I can stop grinding my teeth. I will draw you a picture so you can see what I am talking about.' She drew me a very good picture of a night guard--It had teeth impressions and everything.

32 Inches

Have you ever seen Dr Oz on Oprah? He basically says that your weight doesn't matter, its your waist size you need to watch. Waist size shouldn't be greater than 32 inches -for women (35 inches for men). Since I heard that I have been working on it and today I am so excited I have a 32 inch waist!!!!! And that is at 5:00 in the afternoon, after I have eaten today--
Wooo Whooo!

Blizzard

WOW!!! Is it ever going to stop snowing? I think it has snowed at least once a week since Christmas. Today is a major BLIZZARD. Everything is closed in town except Hy-Vee and Modern. Of coarse I just talked to Kyle and they are just sitting around in the shop, but they are open. I, however, worked (HARD) from 4:30 - 1:00 and cannot believe the people in the store getting groceries. Usually the storm rush is the day before the storm, I don't know if people didn't believe this was coming or what...It's just crazy!
